Provider Maintenance

As our upstream network provider replaced the faulty switch, some services lost upstream connectivity.

After troubleshooting with the provider, we identified that in the process of replacing the faulty network equipment, they inadvertently replaced the wrong switch, which led to a large portion of their infrastructure no longer routing traffic correctly.

Unfortunately, as our BGP sessions remained active, but not routable, failover to our tertiary systems did not take place automatically.

We have now manually disconnected the BGP sessions, and have seen a restoration in connectivity.

The provider has completed maintenance, and we have confirmed all connectivity is working as expected.

One of our network providers will be performing maintenance on the fibre termination equipment in DC1.

This maintenance will be to replace a faulty network switch that has caused multiple issues in the last few months.

We do not anticipate any downtime, however, there is a risk that there may be a brief disruption to connectivity while the switch is replaced and our BGP sessions are re-established.
